Make your New Year’s resolution count in 2019. Sign up to Burntwood’s biggest loser challenge!

Start 2019 the way you mean to carry on and our instructors will help guide you through the first few months of the year and help you on your way to achieving YOUR fitness goals.

The challenge will run for approx. 12 weeks, and will include 3 weekly programmes, diet plans, 1-2-1’s and group sessions. As well as regular check ins where you can be measured and weighed to help keep you on track.

Personalised Dietetic Advice – Laura Clarke (BSc RD)

Dietitians are the only qualified health professionals that assess, diagnose and treat dietary and nutritional problems at an individual level and are the only nutrition professionals regulated by law.

Laura is a HCPC Registered Dietitian and a member of the British Dietetic Association with vast experience working within the community setting.

Laura works with and has access to the most up-to-date public health and scientific research on food, health and disease. This is then translated into practical guidance, enabling people to make appropriate lifestyle and food choices. This will allow for specific targets to be set, making significant changes to the way you eat, train, look and feel.

Appointments are available on:

– Thursdays 6pm – 9pm

– Saturdays 10am -1pm.

If you are looking for some specialised and personal 1:1 advice regarding your diet to complement your training regime, then this could be for you.

This personalised service will incur a small charge:

– Initial assessment (60 minutes): £15

– Reviews therefore after (30 minutes): £7.50

Please book via The Club reception. Please note you will be required to complete a short pre-assessment for prior to your appointment.

***These sessions are for appointments only; payment is required up front, at the time of your booking and is non-refundable***

(Off peak members can also sign up to and attend these information sessions if they wish, which will take place in conference room 2).

Please help The Club to generate MOVE’s for a local cause (tbc).

A MOVE is a way to measure all types of activities, whatever your age or fitness level. The higher the intensity, the higher the MOVE’s per minute you create.

Every time you use a piece of Technogym equipment you generate MOVE’s, if you record these MOVE’s with your key then they count towards The Club’s total.

The more MOVE’s we accumulate, the more chance we have of winning a prize for our nominated cause.

The rules of the competition are:

YOU MUST SIGN UP TO THE CHALLENGE FOR YOUR MOVE’s TO COUNT TOWARDS THE CLUB’s TOTAL

YOU CAN SIGN UP THROUGH THE TECHNOGYM APP OR ON THE EQUIPMENT

YOU MUST USE YOUR TECHNOGYM KEY IN THE EQUIPMENT FOR THE MOVE’s TO COUNT.

YOU CAN ONLY CONTRIBUTE 2000 MOVE’s PER DAY

THE CHALLENGE WILL LAST FOR AROUND 19 DAYS

Therefore we need all our members to train as many days as they can and complete as many MOVE’s as they can in a session.

PLEASE DON’T REMOVE YOURSELF FROM THE CHALLENGE AS YOUR MOVE’s WILL BE LOST AND NO LONGER COUNT TOWARDS OUR TOTAL.

Last year 10,000,000 (million) MOVE’s were required to win the top prize. If 500 members take part in the challenge and all 500 members, complete 1000 MOVE’s each day (for each of the 20 days) we will achieve the 10,000,000 (million) target.

Let’s all make one big effort and make sure we hit the top target this year!

Steak & Quiz

Join us for our exclusive Steak Night at The Club. £19.50 per person includes a set menu consisting of a soup starter, 8oz sirloin steak main course, cooked the way you like it, followed by a dessert.

Sides include: Chunky fries or jacket potato with onion rings, grilled mushroom and seasonal vegetables and a choice of sauce. Food will be served from 7.00pm and last orders at the bar will be 11.00pm.

The Quiz will begin at approximately 9.30pm. To help us cater for the appropriate numbers and plan session times please book your place in advance at reception.

All members are welcome and guests can be signed in on the night.

***Please note this is not a buffet cuisine night and food will be served to your table***

Yoga Latte

Lucy returns in 2019 to deliver her Yoga, coffee and cake experience. Lasting for 3 hours, Yoga Latte combines yoga tuition and techniques for around 1 hour and 30 minutes, followed by a short break where you can enjoy and indulge in tea, coffee and cake in the lounge bar. Finally, you will re-enter the studio for around an hour of deep relaxation and breathing techniques to really find your inner tranquillity and calmness.

To book or for further information please contact The Club reception. £13.50 per person. Please note that our cakes are not home-made and are supplied by The Hotel at Burntwood Court. If you have any dietary requirements then these need to be specified on booking.

Chinese & Pub Olympics

Join us at The Club for our buffet cuisine night and the return of ‘The Burntwood Pub Olympics’.

Sample a selection of dishes from a specially designed menu, for only £11.00 per person.

Food will be served from 7.30pm and last orders at the bar will be 11.00pm.

The Burntwood Pub Olympics will consist of a series of games such as: Darts, Killer Pool, Black Jack, Connect 4, Pick up Sticks, Jenga and others.

This is an individual event where you are looking to score as many points as you can on each of our games.

We will split you into equal teams and each team will play the games in turn. The best person after each game will achieve 10 points, 2nd 8pts and so on.

The male and female with the most points at the end of the night will be crowed the winners.

To help us cater for the appropriate numbers please book in advance at reception.

All members are welcome and guests can be signed in on the night.

Once again it’s time to ‘Bring A Friend’ to use the facilities!

All members can bring a friend during ‘Bring A Friend Week’ to use the facilities for FREE and showcase where you train and relax.

Please bring only one guest at a time and each guest is only allowed to enter for FREE once during the promotion week.

If any of your friends join the club and state your name, we will have a special membership offer running that will benefit both new and existing members.

Dancing with Hannah

Join us at The Club for a night of Salsa, Dancing and socialising in our lounge bar. We will have a finger buffet available on the night, booking is essential and payment is required on booking.

Price per person is £13.50.

The Evening will be led be Hannah Williams, who teaches Yoga and Zumba for us on our class timetable.

Hannah has a wealth of dancing experience and will introduce you to some basic steps and aim to build up simple routines in different dancing styles. We should be in for a fun night.

Places will be limited so please book early with the reception team to avoid disappointment.

All members are welcome and guests can be signed in on the night.
